How much does fvoip cost?
Essential is $21 per user per month, Professional $34, Enterprise $49. Annual billing drops those to $18, $28, and $41. Every plan includes unlimited US and Canada calling and every plan is month-to-month.
Are there contracts or early-termination fees?
No contracts, ever. Service is month-to-month at the published price. Annual billing is optional for the discount, and even that refunds unused full months if you leave.
What fees get added to the advertised price?
Only government-required taxes, itemized at checkout. We don't charge setup fees, "regulatory recovery" fees, or per-feature surcharges for basics like recording or transcripts.
Is there a free trial?
Every plan carries a 30-day money-back guarantee — use the full service for a month, and if it's not right, you get a complete refund and we'll even port your numbers back out.
Numbers & porting
Can I keep my current phone number?
Yes. Porting is free on every plan. Local numbers move in 3–10 business days, toll-free in 10–15. Your existing service stays live until the moment of cutover, so there's no gap.
Can I get new local numbers in other cities?
Yes — we stock local numbers in every major US area code. Add a number in another market for $4/month and route it anywhere: an extension, a queue, or an auto-attendant.
Do you support toll-free and vanity numbers?
Both. Toll-free numbers are $8/month including 1,000 toll-free minutes. If you have a vanity number today, it ports like any other toll-free number.
Hardware & setup
Do I need to buy desk phones?
No — the mobile and desktop apps are full phones on their own. If you want hardware, rent Yealink, Poly, or Grandstream desk phones from $8.99/month (with advance replacement included) or buy them outright. Either way they arrive pre-configured.
Can I bring phones I already own?
Usually, yes. Most unlocked Yealink, Poly/Polycom, and Grandstream SIP phones from the last decade work with fvoip. Send us your model list and we'll confirm before you switch.
How much internet bandwidth do calls need?
Budget about 100 kbps per concurrent call, up and down. A 10-person office rarely needs more than 1 Mbps reserved for voice — far less than a single video stream. Stability and low jitter matter more than raw speed.
How long does setup take?
App-only teams are live the same day. Offices with desk phones are typically live within 2–3 business days of hardware arriving. Complex multi-site migrations get a dedicated engineer and a written cutover plan.
Compliance & security
Is fvoip HIPAA compliant?
The Enterprise plan includes HIPAA-aligned configuration and a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA): encrypted call paths, controlled recording retention, role-based access, and audit logs.
Is call recording legal for my business?
Recording laws vary by state — some (like California, Florida, Washington, and Pennsylvania) require all-party consent; most others require one-party consent. fvoip supports automatic recording announcements so callers are informed. Confirm specifics with your counsel.
How does 911 work on VoIP?
Every fvoip user gets e911 with a registered dispatchable location, in line with Kari's Law and RAY BAUM's Act. Update your address in the portal whenever a device moves — it takes about a minute.
Switching
We're on RingCentral / Nextiva / another cloud provider. How hard is switching?
Easy — it's a port plus a settings copy. We rebuild your call flows (auto-attendant, queues, hours) before the numbers move, so cutover is a non-event. See our comparison pages for provider-specific notes.
Our old PBX still works. Why switch now?
Most legacy PBX lines (Avaya, Mitel, NEC, Panasonic, Nortel) are past end-of-support: parts are scarce, techs are retiring, and a single failed card can take your office dark for days. Migrating while the old system still works means a calm, parallel-run cutover instead of an emergency.
